Prepare to Go Back to School with Asthma

It is back-to-school time and it is nice to have this easy-to-follow checklist prepared by the American Lung Association for children with asthma. For the list go to:

http://www.lung.org/about-us/our-impact/top-stories/prepare-to-go-back-to-school-with-asthma.html

I don’t want to give away the details, but, there are 5 main steps and these are:

  • Learn about asthma
  • Talk to the school nurse
  • Schedule an asthma check-up
  • Develop an asthma action plan
  • Get a flu shot

The goal is to prepare children with asthma so they can start the year healthy and ready to learn!

At Family Allergy & Asthma Care of Montana, we want students with asthma to stay in school so they can learn and fully participate in educational activities and exercise.

  • If you desire an asthma check up and a written asthma action plan for your child, call our office at 406-451-7017.
  • We will also offer the flu shot when it becomes available
  • We can provide asthma basic asthma information and education for the family dealing with a new diagnosis of asthma or advanced asthma education for the family who has been dealing with asthma for years and desires to know the latest information for prognosis, diagnosis, risk factors and treatment options.
